“Be Transformed” Read-A-Thon

Children of the Father’s House is launching our first online Read-a-Thon fundraiser to raise money and awareness for our school: Transformation International Online School in Kampala, Uganda. Our goal is to raise $5,000 over the course of 4 weeks.

Make your own learning count double as you enable other kids to go to school!

By connecting people to our kids in Uganda through something so simple and enjoyable as reading, we hope the world becomes a little smaller, and people become a little more real through a shared goal of education. We hope to pull out of our technology a little bit on this side of the world and let our love reach around the globe to enable technology in education on the other side of the world as we work together to make each other stronger. We can’t wait to do this together! Thanks for joining us!

Rachel small and Rachel big are busy reading their handwritten notes from school. Even little Shadrach in the background is reading! School work counts as reading in the Transformation Read-A-Thon!

Gathering a few pledges and enjoying a good book can make a huge difference.

Example: 50 people x 50 hours x $2/hour= $5,000 If you or your family members get even 4 sponsors, at $1/hour, we could double that number! And, there’s something in it for you:  RAFFLE PRIZE!!!

We will be raffling (10) $25 Amazon gift certificates!

Earn a raffle ticket for every $20 raised by January 1st.

HOW IT WORKS:

1.      Pick some great new reading materials or start counting the things you’re already reading (School reading can count! Audible can count!)

2.      Gather some pledges by telling people what you’re up to and who you’re trying to help. We’ll be introducing some students from Uganda on Facebook so you will know the faces and the name of a student you’re supporting! Shares will earn you another raffle ticket!

3.      Sit down with a good book to learn something new or enjoy a great story!

4.      Let your reading help kids on the other side of the world go to school AND

5.      Qualify to win Amazon Gift Cards

PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS AND KIDS CAN ALL PARTICIPATE! Create your own challenges.  Invite friends to join you or compete.
